Russian Post Reports to Handle 258 million of International Postal Items in the first 9 months of 2018

As per preliminary results of September 2018, Russian Post has handled 258 million of international postal items in the first 9 months of 2018, which is 25% more comparing to the same period of 2017 (208 million), reports the press service of the postal operator. Russian Post is getting ready for the autumn-winter peak season. The logistics Center in Kazan came into operation earlier this year. Russian Posts Vnukovo airport Logisitcs hub has reached it's full capacity of 1.5 million parcels per day. The new multimodal route from China, which combines sea delivery and railroad transportation, using capacity of the operator's own mail train Vladivostok-Moscow. Russian Post's air fleet of TU-204C freighters is now doing 2-5 flights per week from Hangzhou, Xinzhen and Harbin. Regular air routes allow to increase delivery speed of the parcels originating from China. Russian Post's general directof Nikolay Podguzov comments: "The volume of international postal shipments is radpidly increasing. We plan to handle 354 million items by the end of 2018, which is 25% higher than the previous year. We are constantly developing our transport and logistics capacities in order handle effectively the increasing volume of parcels"
