Consolidated Cargoes through Vladivostok – an АТС Route.
АТС strengthens its presence in the segment of consolidated transportation. Transportation route by sea to Vladivostok and further by rail to Russian cities has been operated for more than a year and a half already. It is unique due to the fact that cargoes delivery from Vladivostok is performed not by container train, but by the Russian Post mail car. Firstly, the train departs from Vladivostok on a daily basis. Secondly, upon its arrival to Moscow, Kazan, Yekaterinburg or Vladivostok it is placed in a general post office warehouse, where the cargo is released literally on the day of arrival. All these factors combined with the regular weekly shipment of containers from China allow to ensure a delivery time equal to or even less than that of an express container train from China.
The service performance results during the year of 2020 are inspiring. Compared to 2019, the number of shipped cargoes increased by 8 times, the total tonnage – by 3 times, and revenues increased threefold as well.
Commentary by the head of ATC consolidated cargoes department Oleg Slugin:
2020 was successful thanks to our efforts, as well as favorable market conditions. We are entering this year with good performance as well. Peak amount of shipments before the Chinese New Year has vividly demonstrated the demand for our regular consolidated delivery service. Against the background of general instability in the sphere of motor and rail transportation from China, we were able to ensure regular shipments and short delivery times for our customers. It is especially noteworthy, that during the period of general shortage of containers, we have also ensured the shipment of large and non-standard cargoes.
Following the exponential growth in the volume of goods transported, new routes from Vladivostok were developed. We expanded the geography of delivery cities. Today, apart from transportation to Moscow, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg we are pleased to offer railway cargo shipments to Krasnoyarsk, Omsk, Ulan-Ude, Chita, Irkutsk, Chelyabinsk and Tyumen.
In addition to regular shipments to Moscow and regions, we have started the design delivery of oversize cargoes by rail, as well as a combined delivery of cargoes by sea and air in partnership with the Russian Post. This option turned out to be particularly useful given the limited capacity on direct flights from China, as it allows to deliver cargoes in 20 days on average for less than half the cost.
Being aware of our responsibility for the selection of numerous new and existing customers, we are already planning our work after the traditional holiday week in order to be among the first to continue shipments and to maintain the consistency of supply chains.
