АТС Launches Delivery of Parcels from Japanese Online Stores

ATC representative office in Japan – Air Mail Logistics Japan Co., Ltd – and Pony Express courier delivery service launched a new service for delivery of packages from Japanese online stores to Russia.

Commentary by the Head of ATC representative office in Japan Julia Komissarova:

Until now, regular mail was the main channel for delivery of packages from Japan. This year, buyers had to wait for their packages for several months due to limitations caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Our project reduces delivery time dramatically. Today, a parcel is being delivered to its recipient in 10-15 days. We opened the route in July and started weekly shipments by September following the preparatory activities.

What amounts of parcels do you transport? What goods do people order from Japan?

On average, we export about 200 packages a week. Russian buyers mainly order cosmetics, bioactive food additives, fishing gear, game consoles and games, clothes and shoes from Japanese stores.

Please tell us about your plans for the future.

Now we consolidate packages in Osaka and plan to open the second consolidation warehouse in Tokyo. This will allow us to increase shipping volumes by involving vendors from Tokyo and nearby cities.
