ATC in Thailand. Interview with Director of ATC branch Artur Ukrainskii

ATC geography broadens constantly. We have met with the Director of ATC branch in Bangkok Artur Ukrainskii and talked about ATC operations in Thailand. Artur, would you please tell us about ATC branch in Bangkok. When was the office opened? What is the main focus of operations? 
Thai representative office of ATC in Bangkok – Air Mail Logistics., Ltd (AML) was opened in November 2016. The main focus was to establish and keep stable the transit deliveries of e-commerce and commercial cargo, also to develop the export shipments of commodities from Thailand. What have you already succeeded to do? Our company is a registered entity in Bangkok and has its own representative in the International Airport in Phuket. In the last year, our office organized the shipment of about 1850 tons of transit and export cargo from Thailand to the main cities in Russia, and to Ukraine, Western Europe and USA. Starting from August 2018 we also organize the tours to Russia for Thai tourists. Could you please tell us about the main products and services, that you offer to the clients? Due to the enormous passenger flow from all over the world, and therefore a broad net of routes, we use Thailand airports as the transportation hubs, and offer transit solutions to ship cargo from Asia, Australia, and Africa to the main cities in Russia, and to connect production centers of SEA with the world. As far as it concerns Thai export, besides fresh fruit, vegetables, other food and cosmetics, Thailand produces and export industrial and home equipment in rather large quantities. We offer the freight of all main export commodities to our clients from the Kingdom of Thailand. Which airlines do you cooperate with? At present our office cooperates with all airlines flying from Thailand to Russia, including Aeroflot, Azur, Pegas Fly, Nord Wind , S7, Royal Flight. Also we are in close cooperation with Ukraine International Airlines. What are your plans to broaden the cooperation? To broaden the possibilities of deliveries to Belarus, Ukraine and Eastern Europe we are in process of establishing cooperation with polish airlines LOT. What are the peculiarities of transit procedures in Thailand? Basically the transit process is easy, the main criterion is the correct documents, which our staff check in details. Do you mean that the shipper only needs to confirm the documents with you, to ship the cargo and when arriving in Thailand you will register the customs transit and provide the flight to the destination point? Yes, that is right. We organize transit delivery via airports of Bangkok and Phuket. 
Which exotic countries /regions have you completed the transit deliveries from? As it was mentioned before, due to the broad net of routes, our geography of transit shipments is almost unlimited. From the farthest countries, I would note Australia and the South Africa, from the most exotic Myanmar and Cambodia, where the most consumer goods manufacturing facilities are concentrated now. So does it mean that you have done shipments from Australia and the South Africa for the consignees from Russia? Yes, as from these regions there are no stable routing to Russia. Transit capacities of Thailand can provide them. What are the local peculiarities the client should know, when working with Thai shippers? As in any other countries, the peculiarities depend more on a very shipper and the commodity you ship along, as most of the export goods from Thailand are perishables (fresh fruit, flowers) or live aquarium fish. On the whole the most part of Thai export companies are highly qualified which helps us to prepare the goods for shipments in a tight timeframe.
