ATC Launches Regular Cargo Flights From Xi’an To Moscow

2022/11/01

In November, ATC is to launch a program of cargo flights from Xi’an Airport, Shaanxi Province, to Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow. Alexei Maltsev, the General Director of ATC China, describes the program in more detail:

We are pleased to offer our customers in Russia and China a new scheduled route, which we have developed in partnership with two airlines — the Chinese YTO Airlines and the Russian Aviastar-TU. The flight is a connecting one and is performed by YTO Airlines Boeing B757 cargo aircraft on the first leg from Xi’an to Novosibirsk, where the transit and reloading to the Novosibirsk-Sheremetyevo flight of Aviastar-TU Airlines is performed.

The route is special due to the fact that both its segments are performed by the same B757 aircraft, which ensures the transshipment without unpacking the packing facilities. Docking is carried out within 3-4 hours after the arrival of the flight to Novosibirsk. As a result we can classify such a flight as a direct one. After departure from Xi’an in the morning, the cargoes will be delivered to Sheremetyevo the same day in the evening. The flights will be performed 4 times a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The all-cargo layout of the aircraft allows to transport both boxed and palletized cargoes, which is an advantage compared to Chinese carriers performing flights to Moscow on empty-cabin passenger flights with a pretty limited capacity. In addition, both airlines have permits to carry electronics with lithium batteries. We also transport any non-hazardous chemicals with all necessary documentation.
