ATC Holds Meetings with Cainiao in the Lead-up to 11.11

ATC held meetings with Cainiao Smart Logistics at Cainiao headquarters in Hangzhou in the lead-up to Aliexpress November 11 sales. Plans to ensure capacities for additional amounts of parcels following the sales were discussed with our partners. Commentary by the General Director of ATC China Alexey Maltsev:

At the moment, most of the packages from Aliexpress site, which we export to Russia and transfer to mail and express delivery channels for the last mile delivery, are transported by charter flights. Apart from 10 flights per week that we perform these days, we plan to ensure 12–13 additional flights for the post-sales period – from mid-November to the beginning of December. It will be a passenger Boeing 777 refitted for cargo transportation. Thus, we will be able to export all additional volumes of parcels.

A number of operational issues were also discussed with our Chinese partners during the negotiations, including enabling the launch of a new scheme of returning the parcels, that for whatever reason have not been cleared or delivered to the recipient, or in cases of voluntary goods return by the buyer. Ensuring a fast and correct return in terms of Chinese customs law is part of Aliexpress’ global customer service improvement plan.

Negotiating days coincided with the Alibaba Group rope pulling championship. ATC representatives took part in the competition as guests on a Cainiao team.
