Aliexpress Sale. АТС Exports Additional Volumes of Packages.

Aliexpress is the largest Chinese e-commerce site and holds several large-scale sales a year. One of them traditionally takes place on June 18. The sales increase the amount of parcels to be delivered to their recipients in Russia without any delay. We asked the General Director of ATC Alexey Maltsev about the arrangement of mail delivery and express logistics.

What amount of parcels do you plan to transport following the June 18 sales?

It is difficult to calculate the amount of packages related to the sale volume. Considering that stores prepare and pack goods within a few days after the order is placed on the web-site and the package is delivered to us in 1-3 more days needed for transportation within China, it may be anticipated that all the parcels we receive for transportation from June 21 to June 30 relate to these additional volumes following the sales. It is estimated that we are talking about 4 million shipments that will be delivered both to the Russian Post and express operators’ delivery channels, e.g. DPD (delivery to the recipient or postamats) and X5 (delivery to X5 Retail Group stores postamats). By the way, the standard monthly volume of parcels we transport ranges from 6-7 to 14-15 million in peak months, e.g. in November.

What parcels delivery time do you ensure?

Within Aliexpress supply chain we ensure export execution within China and long haul to Moscow, and in case of Russian Post to distribution centers in Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok. We deliver mail pieces within 2-3 days. Every hour counts in case of express shipments, and lately we have reached 40-50 hours from the moment of package acceptance in our warehouses until its release to the customs broker in Moscow for further processing.

How do you ensure such a short delivery time?

We export all the volumes by charter flights mainly from Hong Kong. Here, ATC operates seven flights per week, four of them by Aviastar airline cargo aircraft, and three flights by Royal Flight passenger planes refitted for cargo transportation in passenger compartments. We plan to continue our charter program with the same flights density further in July.
