A380 Test Flight in New Beijing Airport

May 13 th, 2019 the first trial flight of China Southern passenger plane A380 occurred. Flight CZ7777 departed Beijing airport Shoudu at 9:03 local time and landed in Daxin airport at 9:29. As a part of trials the runway, navigation systems, control tower and weather control operations, runway lighting and other security systems were tested.Airbus A 380 was not a random choice for the trials. This airplane model has the longest take off and landing distance in passenger aviation, and the highest requirements for width of the runway and taxiways. 
Daxin airport is intended to be opened for public in September this year. While designing the airport, a special attention was brought to the position of runway and taxiways in relation to the terminal building to minimize the taxi time of the plane. To design departure and arrival zones, the experience of one of the most modern airports Baiyun in Guangzhou was used. Moreover, the location of the airport will shorten the flight time by 10-20 minutes for the flights from southern or west-southern China. Six parking lots for the biggest A 380 planes are planned in Daxin airport. The parking lots are equipped by the jetways of different height and the possibility to board from left and right sides of the plane.
